Depart your hotel after breakfast and visit the Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Market). Built between 1597 and 1664, it is the second oldest covered bazaar in the city. There you will find mystical smells of different aromas of various spices, shops selling fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish and more.
After visit the New Mosque, completed in 1665. Originally named Valide Sultan Mosque, the construction is ordered by Safiye Sultan, the wife of Sultan Murad III and the mother of his successor Sultan Mehmed III, hence the name Valide Sultan meaning Queen Mother. The mosque is an Imperial Mosque and one of the famous architectural landmarks of Istanbul.
After the mosque, take a cruise on the Bosphorus. This natural strait connects the sea of Marmara to the Black Sea and separates Europe and Asia, making Istanbul one of the most beautiful cities in the world and the only one built astride two continents. This romantic cruise will allow you to admire the Dolmabahce Plalace, the Beylerbeyi Palace, the Ciragan Palace and the Rumeli Fortress, ancient wooden villas and bridges and all the wonderful and unique maritime landscapes.
After a break for lunch take a drive on the Bosphorus Bridge and enjoy the beautiful view when crossing from Europe to Asia. You’ll continue on to the Beylerbeyi Palace via the Bosporus Bridge. Beylerbeyi Palace, summer residence of the sultans, is located at Beylerbeyi neighborhood on the Asian shore of the Bosphorus. It was ordered by the Sultan Abdulaziz and built between 1861-1865 by head architects Sarkis Balyan and Agop Balyan, imperial architects of Armenian origins, in French neo-baroque style with a traditional Ottoman house plan. Important foreign guests visiting the Ottoman Empire were accommodated in this palace during the summer months; Prince of Serbia, King Nicholas of Montenegro, Emperor Joseph of Austro-Hungary, Shah Nasireddin of Iran, Prince Oscar of Sweden, and Empress Eugenie of France were some of them.
The last stop on the tour will be Camlica Hill, the highest point in Istanbul, exposing a panoramic view of Istanbul city and Bosphorusfrom the best point of view. Camlica has also an important place in Turkish literature. Many poets and authors of the Administrative Reforms (Tanzimat) age, and also other literature figures who lived in later years have mentioned Camlica in their works.
At the end of the program you’ll be transferred back to your Istanbul hotel.
